The Kimball Public Schools Board of Education met on Monday, June 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Kimball County Transit Service meeting room. In the treasurer’s report, Britni Toth spoke to the fact that the schools received a credit of $2.3 million from property taxes, which was up from last year. The Kimball City Council met at 5 p.m. June 3 in the City Council Chambers, and the Wellness Center was in focus. Jamie Murdoch updated the council regarding the Wellness Center Committee meetings and the next phase of the planning process for the center. The night started out with the crowning of the Kimball Ranch Rodeo Queen Taylor Whitney and the Princess Carly Norberg. Former Four Winds Golf Course pro Chad Wise called the Observer to report a hole-in-one at the Kimball links for his friend Terry Lovesee. Dear Editor, Hi. I am the director of the Kimball Public Library. I take the library’s budget and the use of taxpayers’ dollars very seriously. For that reason, I wanted to give some clarification to the article printed in the paper two weeks ago, May 28, that reported the cost of the library’s roof replacement. The roof was leaking, and we were having challenges with it. But we had not budgeted for the roof to be replaced, so we were making do with the situation.
